Doing Good

The Rudolph Logistics Group and its companies are committed to making a positive contribution to the world around us. Success in our business goals ensures our future as a family company, but the achievement of economic goals is not our whole story. Only when we also take responsibility for customers and employees, for the environment and the larger society do we place our business activities on a secure foundation. Here’s where we’re doing good:

The Environment

In our corporate policies, we are committed to environmental protection. We realize that commitment by continually improving our own environmental performance and reducing environmental impacts. Following sustainable practices, we avoid unnecessary resource consumption, reduce the number of resources used and recycle residual and waste products as often as possible.

We reduce energy consumption through the use of motion sensors, automatic timers and low-energy light bulbs. We use energy-efficient IT products, reduce paper waste, recycle and avoid using hazardous substances when possible.

In Germany, we guarantee that our guidelines for new logistics building projects specify that properties fulfill the Gold Standard of the German Sustainable Building Council e.V. (DGNB). In the United States, we use LEED certification which sets the standard for the development and planning of “green buildings.”

When obtaining our vehicle and forklift fleets, we use new models, select electric vehicles when possible and use driverless transport systems to optimize processes.

We directly support climate-related initiatives, including:

The World Forest Foundation of the German “Senat der Wirtschaft, a German organization that brings together individuals from the fields of economics, science and society to work for the public good.

A Reforestation project with Forest Finance, one of the reforestation partners of the World Forest Foundation, includes a four-hectare piece of land that is being reforested in Panama.

Children's Programs

We support Watoto e.V., an organization that supports Mekaela Academies and provides sponsorships for needy children in Kenya. Our support takes the form of the Rudolph Logistics Medical Care Program. With this program, we guarantee basic medical care for approximately 700 schoolchildren at the Mekaela Academies. This ensures treatment, for example, for illnesses like malaria, broken bones and infectious diseases.

We also support Star Care Hessen e.V., an aid organization for employees of the Mercedes-Benz plant in Kassel, Germany and Plan International, which provides long-term sponsorships of girls.
